Parental Involvement in the School

The Lowanna College Parents’ Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the College Conference Room. At these meetings the College Principal and Assistant Principals (on rotation) are available to answer any questions.

As part of its constitution, the Parents’ Club states that it will:

  • Provide an opportunity for all parents of students of the College to discuss issues of a welfare and general educational policy nature and assist in the development of a shared parent view.
  • Promote the welfare of college community members and assist the College Council in stimulating interest in the College.
  • Assist in the coordination of College activities and liaise with other State bodies organised to promote the interests of Government Schools.
  • Convey proposals on College policy and other College matters to Council.
  • Receive and raise funds for the benefit of the College.
  • Provide training programs and information sessions for parents to extend their understanding of school issues.
  • Conduct meetings in accordance with democratic procedures which will enable the participation of all parents in the College.
